Meet Bella, a handmade, beautiful and unique handmade fabric baby doll. She is UKCA tested and certified as safe from birth. Bella is 11 inches (28cm) from head to toe. She has been made using Waldorf Inspired traditional doll making techniques. Her body is fully lined for extra strength and longevity (as well as cuddliness!). Each seam is twice sewn, so that Bella can safely join in with all the games she inspires in your imagination.
What you receive:
You will receive this unique fabric baby doll together with her white rabbit romper, white booties with appliqued paw pad motifs, little floral leggings and dusky pink nappy, in a beautiful presentation gift box.
Baby Bella’s outfits are:
1)a white hooded velour rabbit romper, with ears on the hood and a little white tail. This romper is lined with a contrasting lining fabric with little pink and purple flowers on it, matching her cosy booties. This romper is based on the romper pattern created by La Chulona Dolls.
2) Little cosy footies with a pink and purple flower motif (matching the lining of the rabbit romper suit)
3) a pair of little white velour booties with a hand appliqued paw print motif on the sole
Baby Bella’s body is stuffed with pure wool. Baby Bella’s inner head is created using traditional Waldorf head rolling techniques, again using pure wool.
Baby Bella’s skin has been created using De Witte Engel doll making fabric. Her face is gently needle felted and her eyes and mouth are hand embroidered.
Baby Bella’s hair is a mohair wig created from Steiff Schulte Mohair fabric. This wig is securely sewn to her head. Her hair can be gently brushed and styled and is safe for the youngest hands.
Baby Bella has been created using my own UKCA tested Roly Poly baby pattern.
Baby Bella’s arms and legs have fabric joints allowing them to move very freely, meaning she can be dressed and undressed. Baby Bella can sit with a little support and can stand independently (with careful balancing) or stand easily with support.
Baby Bella’s body, hands and feet are kept deliberately simple to allow children to imagine and play freely as described and encouraged in Waldorf teaching. Baby Bella’s face, hands and feet have been gently coloured using Caran d’ache neo-colour wax pastels. These pastels are CE marked and EN71 compliant, guaranteeing safe use for children. Over a long period of time, this colouring may naturally fade a little, but if needed it can be re-applied using a soft piece of fabric. Baby Bella can be spot cleaned (ideally) or gently handwashed. If necessary baby can be washed in a machine in a mesh bag on a delicates cycle.
